German DJs and their living rooms

Excellent photos of personal work spaces of some german DJs (DJ Koze, Ritchie Hawtin, Ellen Allien, DJ Hell and many more; I know, not all are from Germany, but they live there, at least).

Music is the healing force of the universe!

Just found out that you can listen to the BBC Gilles Peterson Worldwide show on the Giantstep Jukebox. Don’t forget to checkout Gilles Peterson’s podcasts.

Gilles Peterson Worldwide

Gilles Peterson

I am a huge fan of DJ, BBC radio moderator, Talkin’ Loud label founder and (since recently) podcaster Gilles Peterson. He is always digging a little bit deeper in sound archives than his collegues and he has an excellent feeling for new music and upcoming artists on a worldwide level. He is “Searching for the perfect beat” on his show Gilles Peterson Worldwide on BBC Radio 1 since many years now (listen here). But it seems this is not enough so he started his own podcast recently: Gilles Peterson Worldwide where he is highlighting music labels and their sound catalogs. Founding a new music label called Brownswood Recordings and starting his podcast marks maybe the beginning of something new (this is a speculation on my side).

I will continue to follow him like an online groupie and I hope I can attend one of his DJ sets / party soon.

*Psst* I just saw this - looks like a really really cool event!

Bastard Pop

I loved Bastard Pop when it hit Germany 4 years ago… one of my heros were Osymyso and his legendary Intro-Inspection (mp3).
