* Back again

Hey, I am back again. I have been deeply into coding recently and it seems like I cannot blog and code at the same time.
Anyways, will post more stuff here soon. In the meantime, take these two pics, one from my new apartment which gave a new place to one of my sculptures, the other pic shows my text editor of choice: vim!
* Thoughts

Montreal: Today is the first day of fall - not officially maybe, but for me. The sunlight changed completely - everything appears in high contrast now. I like it. This is Indian Summer, the first time live, at least for me.
Europe: the government of Europe will release a law somewhere in 2009 that says that testing on animals for cosmetics, soaps, etc. will be forbidden. I wonder how big companies like L’Oreal manage to do that, since it is not forbidden in most (or all) countries of the world. Just to give you an idea of what we speak here: L’Oreal stated that they “need” around 30,000 (!) rabbits each year for testing purposes. Critics say that the number might be higher. What the f****??? It’s JUST L’Oreal, how many companies exist who do testing on animals? Thinking of all the rabbits, mice and other animals used for testing makes me sad. At least there are some companies which say they don’t test on animals (Body Shop chain, Weleda are the only ones which I know from m-c). I am not only about giving up using Niveau products, but I am also on the way to become a vegetarian… (thanks to m-c again).
* Decentralized platforms

I just updated my previous blog post about decentralization of today’s online platforms. I found some other very interesting blog posts on this subject. I am very happy about it since I am not alone!
* Peter Weibel - Fenster zur Welt
Posted on July 16th, 2007 by Chris Car. Filed under Art, Thought, Vision.
Interesting article from Peter Weibel (media artist and media theoretician) published at Telepolis (in german).
* Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning

I like this photo, I felt a strong relation to it which I cannot explain. It shows Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning, German Dadaists and surrealist artists.
